About the Department

The Wicomico County Volunteer Firefighters Association ( WCVFA) represents 12 member departments. We work with County government to act as a Liaison for the County funding opportunities and LOSAP benefits. We assist with the interaction of the Chiefs Association, the MSFA, the Lower Eastern Shore Training Center, the Wicomico County School Board CTE program, MIEMSS, and the Fire Police Association to keep departments abreast of the events affecting their operations.

Why the WCVFA?
We can assist an interested person with identifying the correct department based on their address, their age, their school situation, desired training or services, and share the basic information with respect to what it means to be a volunteer firefighter / EMT. We also share updates to training requirements, transferring from other jurisdictions, MIEMSS requirements, benefits and legislation.
