About the Department

Potomac Fire Company No.2 is a small town fire department located in Allegany County. We utilize an engine, engine tanker, heavy rescue unit and a brush unit to protect approximately 1,600 residents in Westernport and McCoole. We also provide mutual aid to Mineral County and Garrett County. We respond to approximately 300 emergency incidents yearly. We have a membership of 41 firefighters and approx. 15 associate members.

Why Potomac Fire Company No. 2?

We have been providing fire and rescue services for 106 years. We are an all volunteer fire department. We have a great brotherhood, we take care of one another. Our drive is to protect our citizens when they are in need. Our residents depend on us to perform at our best when they are in need of our services. The training is free and could lead you to a great career as a professional firefighter. It is a great organization to belong to.
