About the Department

Small department located northeast of Cumberland, Maryland. 400 runs a year in Fire, EMS, Rescue and Technical Rescue. Live-in program available, 4 private rooms. Departmant pays for Medic school 100% with passing score and 2 year service agreement.

Why Bedford Road Volunteer Fire Department?

Since forming our live in program 10 years ago we have had 8 live-ins successfully pursue careers in the DC/metro area. We currently have 13 career firefighters on our roster which will give you excellent insight on new techniques and training opportunities. Close proximity to Allegany College and Frostburg State university.
