About the Department

Smithsburg Community Volunteer Fire Company is a 100% volunteer company. We average just over 500 calls a year. We assist with mutual aid to City of Hagerstown, Franklin County, and Frederick County. We run an Engine, Heavy Rescue Engine, Engine Tanker, Mini pumper, and Brush truck.

Why Smithsburg Community Volunteer Fire Company?

We have many members with different backgrounds in the fire and rescue service. We have many seasoned members and many younger members. Anyone that would like to join but not run calls we try to do a fundraiser a month and have plenty of other opportunities to get the points needed for LOSAP.
